Saffron Hope

In remembrance of the 1984 injustices against the Sikhs by the Indian government.

Cries of pain tear through the silence,
The saffron sun keeps burning,
Innocent lives are destroyed by the violence,
The saffron sun keeps burning.

A mother cries at the death of her child,
The saffron sun keeps burning,
Her body is crumpled and her eyes are wild,
The saffron sun keeps burning.

Dead bodies litter the blood stained streets,
The saffron sun keeps burning,
Around each corner the injustice repeats,
The saffron sun keeps burning.

Although the pain seemed too much to bear,
The saffron sun kept burning,
A glimmer of hope will always be there,
Because the saffron sun will keep burning.
